Coaching Individual and Teams

Christian coaching is a focused Christ-centered relationship that cultivates a person’s or team’s sustained growth and development.  Coaching focuses on the goals and development of the people being coached, with specific encouragement for sustained growth.  For more information on coaching, check out the CAM coaching fact sheet.

Individual or team coaching — Coaching can be contracted with one of the CAM coaches to meet your specific needs and help you establish and reach your goals – be that for yourself, your team, or in your journey as a coach.

  • Individual coaching usually takes place twice per month by telephone for an hour per call.   Link with a coaching fact sheet (below).  For more information email info@ca-ministries.com.
  • Team coaching is often on site for one or more days, with a specific purpose. CAM partner/leader/colleague can collaborate to determine the objectives, timing, activities, etc.
  • Mentor Coaching – CAM’s team of trained and ICF certified coaches provide a wide variety of coaching services to coaches who want to become even better. Mentor coaching includes:
    • Feedback on coaching
    • Ministry/business development
    • Deepened understanding of what and how coaching works

Coach Training

Coach Approach Ministries offers a variety of Christian Coach Training solutions. Both our Fast Track Coach Training program and the Valwood Christian Leadership Coach Certification program we offer through the Hollifield Leadership Center provide a solid foundation for Christian leaders – both in ministry and in the marketplace – to learn coaching skills and a process for leading others using a coach-approach.

  • Core training program — CAM offers 8 coaching courses, 16 hours each, that are mapped to the International Coach Federation coaching competencies (www.coachfederation.org).

  • Customized coach training for your organization – CAM will collaborate with you to design the best approach for training in your organization.
  • Coach Approach Ministries’ On-line Intro to Coaching - This web-based course focuses on helping Christian leaders experience coaching and discover ways to use it in their life and ministry.
This course will help you discern whether coaching fits with your leadership style. We provide an introduction to the skills for coaching and for some models used to give structure to a coaching conversation. For more information check out the CAM Store.
  • Coaching QuickStart – CAM has developed two new resources for training others how to use coaching skills and a coach approach in a ministry or work-place setting. The QuickStart Guide to Coaching One Another includes a Leader’s kit with everything needed to train others in a 5-hour workshop. The QuickStart Guide to Being Coached is an online tutorial that participants in the QuickStart workshop engage prior to the onsite training to help familiarize them with key coaching concepts. In addition, many coaches are using this online tutorial to introduce their new clients to coaching and set them up for success. For more information check out the CAM Store.

Preparation for ICF Credentialing

Coach Approach Ministries provides mentor coaching through our network of ICF qualified coaches through:

  • One on One Mentor Coaching – ten hours of coaching with a blend of coaching and being coached. Clients learn about coaching by being coached AND practice their own coaching skills with an experienced coach capable of providing targeted feedback on the client’s mastery of the ICF Core Coaching Competencies.
  • Portfolio Prep Package (PPP) – This is a group mentor coaching process which includes ten hours of mentor coaching – seven hours through a group coaching/supervision cohort and three hours of one-on-one feedback coaching with at least two mentor coaches. This process is specifically intended to prepare clients to successfully complete the ICF oral exam for credentialing, satisfy the mentor coaching requirement, and provide two letters of recommendation needed for the ICF Credentialing application. We also provide resources and guidance to help clients prepare the application. (More info available here: http://icfprep.eventbrite.com)

Internal Coaching Culture

Our coaches have worked with organizations of all types – individual congregations, regional/national denominational bodies, para-church organizations, and other non-profits – to develop a coaching culture. Based on a proven process for integrating a coaching mindset into the lifeblood of the organization, we help client organizations build a custom plan to create this culture across all levels.
