ABOUT US - Meet the CAM Team CAM Affiliates

What happens when coaching and ministry come together?

That's a question the four ministry and coaching professionals who lead CAM continue to ask.

Back in 2001, this team began to form around the notion of bringing professional coaching to the church. The four have partnered to bring coaching and coach training to hundreds of church and denominational leaders.

In 2008, Bill Copper, Jane Creswell, Chad Hall and Linda Miller officially launched CAM to focus their energies and partner with a network of other coaching professionals to leverage coaching in service to the church.

Who's Behind CAM?

CAM is led by four Principals, each of whom has a wealth of unique coaching and ministry experience. Each partner balances a full time position outside his/her role with CAM while bringing excellent client focus to those who partner with CAM to meet the ministry needs related to coaching. Our leadership team includes:

Bill Copper, ACC, is director of the Hollifield Leadership Center, which is a ministry of the Baptist State Convention of NC, where he also directs the Valwood Christian Leadership Coaching program. Bill has received certification from the  National Association of Church Business Administration and frequently writes, speaks, and coaches around areas of business management for non-profits. He also provides coach training for churches, judicatories and various organizations. Bill lives in Lenoir, NC with his wife and three sons.

 

 

Jane Creswell, MCC, has felt called as a missionary to the business world since college. She became the founder of IBM Coaches’ Network and started Internal Impact to extend internal coaching to organizations globally. She is author of Christ-Centered Coaching: 7 Benefits for Ministry Leaders (2006, Chalice Press) and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Coaching for Excellence (Oct 2008, Alpha Books/Penguin). Jane is on the editorial board for the Journal of Christian Coaching.  She and her husband call West Lafayette, IN home; they have 2 adult sons.

 

 

 

Chad Hall, PCC, has served as a pastor and church planter as well as a denominational leader. He now serves as an executive coach and consultant with SAS Institute, Inc. and enjoys being exposed to world class leaders. He has coached nearly 100 ministry professionals and has co-authored with Linda Miller Coaching for Christian Leaders (Chalice, 2007). He is also a frequent contributor to Leadership Journal. He is married to Holly and they live with their three small children in Cary, NC.

 

 

Linda Miller, MCC, is a pioneer in the coaching profession, both in the Christian and business communities.  Serving The Ken Blanchard Companies as global liaison for coaching, Linda is known for her work in coach training, executive coaching and as an international speaker.  In addition to her book with Hall, she also recently co-authored Coaching in Organizations: Best Practices from The Ken Blanchard Companies (2008, Wiley and Sons).  She and her husband live in Phoenix, AZ and have two adult daughters.

In addition to our four Principals, two Partners contribute at the visionary and strategic levels of the ministry.

Jerry Essary, D.Min., ACC, is the Director of the Center for Christian Coaching, a ministry started by Jerry for the Tennessee Baptist Convention. He has been involved in coaching leaders and teams in churches and organizations as they work through change, transition, and transformation. Through coaching Jerry is determined to partner with others as they discover purposeful movement with clear direction. Jerry and his wife live in the Nashville, TN area and have two adult children..

 

 

 

 

Perry Rhue, PCC, has over three decades experience coaching and training with a FORTUNE 50 company. His expertise is helping individuals and teams understand their unique personal traits, gifts, talents, strengths, temperament, and “blind spots.” Perry also specializes in team facilitation and coaching The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni. Perry’s coaching experiences includes coaching engagement design, training, coach resource management, and return on investment focus. His professional career has provided him an excellent background for the exciting opportunity he enjoys as a certified professional coach. His career includes job roles in corporate talent management, customer service, training, leadership and professional development, personal career management, coaching (individual and team) and facilitation..

Coach Approach Ministries maintains a tight and highly collaborative connection with a handful of qualified affiliates. These are coaches and trainers who we stake our reputation on (and vice versa!).
